RTE is the main operator of the transmission system in France. RTE is also responsible for maintaining and developing the French high-voltage transmission system.

Project

Reconstruction of the Control and Monitoring System of the tunnel and its two main gates on the Spanish side and on the French side. The technology used was Siemens S7 andWinCC.

Motivation
  • Creation of a reliable alarm and event system.
  • Avoid human presence inside the tunnel unless necessary, the control system had to be autonomous enough for WatchGuard to function correctly with monitoring information reported to the 2 conversion stations located in Mas Bruno (France) and Santa Llogaia (Spain).
  • Creation of display screens with the ability to manually control the tunnel if necessary.
  • The technological structure to be used must guarantee a redundant work system.
